Alexandria is the capital city of the Teleorman County, Romania. It is located south of Bucharest, towards the Bulgarian border. The city is situated on the Vedea River. The city has 58,651 inhabitants. Alexandria was named after its founder, Alexandru II Ghica, prince of Romania from 1834 to 1842.
